Gillian Anderson was born on the 9th of August 1968. She lived with two other siblings in Puerto Rico, and also for 9 years in London [Crouch End and Haringey], while her father attended film school. At the age of 11, she moved to Michigan, where she attended Fountain Elementary. After graduating from high school at City High in 1986, she moved to Chicago and attended the Goodman Theater School at DePaul University. She gained her Bachelor of Fine Arts and then moved to New York. Gillian first gained recognition as an actress for her off-Broadway performance in Alan Ayckbourne’s “Absent Friends” at the Manhattan, and is best known for her role as Agent Scully in the TV series “The X Files”.
