Jennifer Aniston: Biography
Born in Sherman Oaks, California, Jennifer Aniston had her first taste of acting at age 9 on the set of her fathers show Days Of Our Lives, in which he played Victor Kiriakis. She later joined the Rudolph Stenier School’s Drama Club and developed her passion for acting there. After graduating from the New York High School of the Performing Arts she landed a role in the off-Broadway productions For Dear Life and Dancing on Checker’s Grave.
Her first TV role came in 1989 as a series regular on the sitcom Molloy. Other roles included a part in the spin-off series Ferris Bueller, and a recurring role in Herman’s Head. It was in 1994 that Jennifer was asked to audition for the role of Monica in a new sitcom, Friends Like These. She instead auditioned for the role of Rachael, and won the part. The show soon had its name shortened to just Friends, and became one of the most popular sitcoms in history.
Like the rest of her co-stars, Jennifer has moved into mainstream Hollywood movies during the show’s off-season. She has had success in her movie roles, including the quirky comedy Office Space, a voice part on the animated feature The Iron Giant, and a part in the 2001 Mark Wahlberg vehicle, Rock Star.
Despite constant rumours of the shows demise, Friends continues in prime-time and has maintained the same success it enjoyed from the start. The actors recently negotiated an unprecedented $1 million per episode deal, illustrating just how valuable the franchise is to its producers
