Neve Campbell

Neve Campbell: Biography

Neve Adrienne Campbell was born on October 3, 1973 in Guelph, Ontario, in Eastern Canada. She was named after her mother’s maiden name. Neve (rhymes with “Bev”) stands 5 feet 5 1/2 inches tall and has beautiful brown eyes and brown hair. Neve starred as Julia Salinger on the TV show Party of Five. The show won the 1996 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Series, focusing on the lives of the Salingers, five brothers and sisters determined to stay together following the tragic loss of their parents. Party focuses on the way the family uses the creativity, humor and love instilled by their parents to deal with the conflicts and demands of everyday life. Campbell drives a 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera which is aventine green with a tan interior. Despite the green car, Neve says her favorite color is navy blue. As for her taste in food, she says she loves to eat lasagna and generally adheres to a low-fat diet. Neve smokes Marlboro Lights cigarettes.

It was no surprise that Neve would pursue a career in acting, since performing and entertaining tends to “run in the blood” of the Campbell family. Her father teaches media and drama at a high school, and her mother used to own a dinner theater. Both of her Scottish grandparents performed for the soldiers during World War II and her Dutch grandparents owned a theater in Holland. And her older brother, Christian, is an aspiring actor. Christian starred not too long ago in the NBC television series Malibu Shores. Neve also has two younger brothers, Alex and Damian. Damian suffers from Tourette’s syndrome, a neurological disorder which affects over 100,000 Americans. If you’d like to find out more information on this disease you can visit the website of the Tourette’s Syndrome Association. For Damian’s sake, let’s hope a cure to this disease can be found soon.

Neve started out dancing at six years old. When she was nine, she began training at the National Ballet School of Canada. She excelled at her art and was adept at six different forms of dance but unfortunately several injuries made a lifelong career impossible. She later turned to acting and landed her first commercial for a mall in Canada called Eaton Center. Soon after came her stage debut in The Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theater in Toronto. It was here that she met Jeff Colt, her future husband, who just happened to be bartending at that theater. Neve later performed in productions of The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty before she hit it big in the motion picture industry.

Neve married actor Jeff Colt on April 3, 1995 in England during filming of The Canterville Ghost after they had lived together for five years. Neve had met Jeff originally in 1989 when she was performing in The Phantom of the Opera in Toronto and he was bartending in front of the opera house. They moved in together in 1990 when she was 17, about a year after she met him. After a long engagement Neve and Jeff were married on April 3, 1995 in England in Westminster Cathedral, near Wimbledon. They then spent their honeymoon in Paris, Venice and Zurich and settled down to live in her recently acquired house in the Hollywood Hills just outside Los Angeles, California. However, it seems that the pair just weren’t meant to be. On July 30, 1997 they announced their plans for separation and Jeff moved out. It has been rumored in places that Neve has been seeing Matthew Lillard (‘Stuart’ from Scream) for some time now – and his involvement with the Blue Sphere Alliance Production Company seems to indicate some kind of relationship. The Blue Sphere is a company which is headed by Campbell, her brother Christian, and Lillard. Neve and Matthew both refuse to comment on their relationship, but as they’ve appeared in public holding hands and kissing, it seems there’s more than a bit of truth to this rumor. Neve recently admitted that she was seeing someone in an interview with USA Today, but she refused to give his name.
