Sarah Polley was born on 8 January, 1979. She grew up in a family that was very involved with the entertainment industry, her father is an actor and her mother, was a casting director (who unfortunately died of cancer when Sarah was 11).
She also has two brothers and sisters. Polley is known to be well-read with a keen mind. She is a crusader for social issues and works with the Canadian Peace Alliance. She hopes to be a writer but her recent successes as an actress might change her mind.
